2nd Annual Big Dreams Breakfast
The 2nd Annual Big Dreams Breakfast was a huge success!!! With many of our supporters in attendance, they enjoyed a delicious breakfast cooked by staff and served by members.  The Big Dreams Breakfast gives us the opportunity to thank our supporters and invite the community to see what our program is about.  This is the only fundraiser dedicated to Fillmore.   It is a time where supporters can contribute to our program, and say we value what you do.  We are keeping with tradition and are planning for our 3rd annual Big Dreams breakfast set for December, 2012.

Hike to Tar Creek
Sponsored by the One Step and the USDA Forest Service
Amelia Aparicio - Site Based Mentoring Coordinator & Jonar Rodrigo, Urban Outreach Coordinator USDA Forest Service, Southern CA Consortium
Prior to hiking Tar Creek, the USDA Forest Service held a teach-in informing the members about jobs in forest service.  They also elaborated on "hike leave no trace outdoor ethics" in which the members learned about being responsible hikers - what you carry in and carry out.  As part of the hike, the students also volunteered to do a clean up of the trail and the creek, as members hiked, they piked up trash and cleaned it up.  Tar Creek is located in Fillmore's own backyard, our members are looking forward to visiting again!!!

Teen Dating, Violence Prevention Presentation was sponsored by the One Step Center & Interface. Members learned about healthy relationships and how to identify unhealthy characteristics through discussions, films, and power-point presentations. Additionally, Members were further empowered to protect themselves and their friends by learning tips and techniques in preventing date rape.
